To qualify for membership, applicants must carry out or assist in scientific expeditions focused
on exploring unknown or little-known locations or natural phenomena in order to expand human knowledge. Applicants may be explorers by profession or by avocation. We are looking for people who have gotten their hands dirty or their feet wet working in the field in one or more documented scientific expeditions.
In addition, individuals may join as a Friend of the Explorers Club—a category for those who do not qualify for full membership but who would like to associate with the Club and support its goals.
